Shanghai SIPG, which invested heavily this season, failed to win any titles; in the FA Cup final last weekend, they were even defeated by their local rivals Shanghai Shenhua. After the match, coach Boas did not give a clear statement regarding whether he would continue as coach. According to the UK’s Telegraph, Shanghai SIPG offered Boas a contract for another year, but the Portuguese coach declined and will take some time away from football to rest. British media had previously reported that Everton, which is currently in a poor form, hopes to hire Boas, but Boas, who has faced failure at Chelsea and Tottenham, also declined the offer; he does not want to work in the Premier League again.
Boas is indeed a bit difficult to convince of his capabilities; changing the manager at Shanghai SIPG will help achieve good results next year.
