On the evening of March 13, Beijing time, the first leg of the finals of the 2017-2018 Chinese Women’s Volleyball Super League was held in Shanghai. Playing away against the regular-season champions, Shanghai Guangming Youbei, Tianjin Bohai Bank brought a strong offensive game, and Li Yingying was particularly aggressive; after four intense sets, they won 3-1 to advance. In the final series played on a best-of-7 basis, they managed to take the lead, with the set scores being 25-20, 23-25, 25-15, and 25-17.
The Tianjin team does have an advantage in domestic leagues, but it still lags behind when it comes to the AFC Champions League.
