However, over time they felt that they were spending too much time on it, which affected their regular work. Several moderators I know left for this reason. I don’t know what the revenue sources for the forum are; it probably generates not much income. So people should approach it with the intention of learning, rather than expecting any material rewards. I know that apart from Haichuan, chemical-related forums are basically ignored by most people (such as the Chemical Technology Forum, 707, etc.), so I hope everyone can persevere and spend a little time participating every day.

I can say that you are among the most responsible moderators; under your management, the forums remain tidy, separators are added in a timely manner, and new posts are marked as read promptly – far better than in other communities. I agree; moderators who don’t do anything can still get more assignments than those who are constantly managing tasks. I really don’t understand how this system works – even the qualification rates for different regions can be falsified. As they say, it’s truly moving further and further away from one’s original intentions.
