The reason for this is less due to a desire to watch entertainment, and more because of my role as an educator – I am interested in the character and behavior of young men and women. It is said that the young men and women chosen by \"If You Are the One\" are all the best among their peers. Although the difficulty of getting selected there is not comparable to that of the entrance exams at the Beijing Film Academy and the Academy of Drama, it is still incredibly tough. One young man applied more than thirty times before he managed to move the program’s producers, who then reluctantly accepted him. This once again shows that those selected by \"If You Are the One\" are by no means ordinary people; at least they are outstanding in terms of appearance. However, those alluringly beautiful men and women who gathered there had two things about their performances on stage that surprised me greatly: the first surprise was the falsification of their appearances. Having lived to this age, it would be an overstatement to say that my life has been in vain, but it’s not entirely wrong to say that I’m ignorant. Previously, I had only heard that fake cigarettes, fake alcohol, fake drugs, and fake eggs existed – in other words, it’s possible to fake any kind of product to deceive people. But that applied to goods; I never thought that people could also be faked, and I’m referring to a person’s appearance, especially their face. The techniques and results of plastic surgery and makeup these days are truly astonishing and impressive; they can not only turn people with average appearances into super beauties but also completely transform an ordinary face into something beautiful – turning ugliness into beauty! Is it possible to fake a person’s appearance? Have you heard of that? I was really surprised after watching \"If You Are the One\". The second surprise is that the soul is ugly. In \"If You Are the One,\" contrary to fake appearances, the souls shown by the candidates are their true, unadorned selves. The 24 female guests on stage were supposed to serve as ambassadors of traditional Chinese virtues and as examples of contemporary Chinese education, in order to showcase to the world the beauty of Chinese women – their physical beauty, their spiritual qualities, and their virtues! Yet, aside from a few lovely girls who possessed both good looks and good character, most of them were willful and spoiled, rude and impolite, domineering and capricious, and lacked cultural sophistication in their behavior, revealing the true nature of their souls. The soul is the outward manifestation of culture, while culture is the foundation of the soul. The kind of culture one has determines the nature of one’s soul, as well as the kind of person one becomes; this cannot be hidden or falsified! The female contestants who appear on the stage of \"If You Are the One\", ranked by the quality of their souls: foreigners come first, followed by those from Hong Kong and Taiwan, and then those from the Chinese mainland – this is also a reflection of their cultural sophistication.
It’s just a entertainment show; if you believe it, you’ve lost. . . . . .
I still believe that it is industry that strengthens a nation; empty talk only harms it! ;P
