Times are changing, and this reflects a problem: fewer people are paying attention to it. Or perhaps, with the spread of the Internet and mobile media, many issues are discussed and resolved on companies’ own websites or apps; in other words, the chemical industry is not as dynamic as it used to be.

I should choose their good qualities and follow them, and use their bad qualities as a guide to make improvements in myself. Let me share my views on old posts, as well as an analysis of why there are so many forums these days but their quality is low: First, the issue of personnel: When I first joined forums in 2009, I really loved them. There were many experts of exceptional skill among them (often at a very high level of expertise) who would answer questions by focusing on the key points, explaining the essential aspects, and providing logical reasons – their explanations were much more vivid than those in books. I also met many colleagues through these forums, and we shared knowledge with each other. Sometimes, no matter how hard you try to figure out a problem, you might not be able to understand it, but a simple and easy-to-understand reply from someone in a post can shed light on it for you. The forum is truly a big family where everyone helps one another! These days, when a topic is posted, it often doesn’t inspire much enthusiasm among people to participate. In most cases, answers or solutions can be found by searching the forum. If a member is forced to answer the same questions over and over again, it will inevitably lead to resentment! In most cases, people do not waste time on such topics; instead, they look for content they are willing to engage with, examine others’ analyses, and propose solutions they consider appropriate. Every participating member is free, and we have no right to require him or her to answer every question. So how can we boost everyone’s enthusiasm for participation? I have always felt that it is necessary to provide guidance through institutional mechanisms, along with appropriate spiritual and material rewards. This is another issue I would like to discuss. II. System and time issues: Previously, members had to download certain materials, which required a certain amount of points, charm value, or rank in order to do so! At that time, there were no resource websites such as Baidu Wenku or Daoke; members could only download the materials they needed by actively participating to raise their level, points, and charm. This has inadvertently enabled the forum to reach a certain peak in a short period of time, with high standards both in terms of quantity and quality. A good response often receives high praise and bonus points from everyone, creating a virtuous cycle. People might say that the current system still follows the rules from back then; so why is there low participation and poor quality of responses? Indeed, the system remains unchanged, but the times have undergone tremendous changes. If we do not approach these issues from a developmental perspective, it is just like the story in the proverb about trying to find a sword by marking its position on a boat. The increase in resource-based websites has, to some extent, diverted a portion of members ； The development of personal space has, along with the inability to participate in forum discussions, diverted some members away ； Although we claim to be the largest chemical industry forum in the country with 3.6 million members, how many are actually active participants? How many members are truly willing to make the effort? Are we stuck? Wait to die? The answer is definitely: No! ! ! We are also changing, and we have identified the problems. There is communication online as well as in person. It’s by no accident that HaiChuan has grown from having just a few tens of thousands of members at first to what it is today. The increase in the number of members indicates that HaiChuan enjoys a good reputation among people, and our platforms cover all aspects of the chemical industry, with various professional and technical experts participating to some extent in these activities! We have also established some new rules and systems in line with the developments of the times to ensure the participation of members and managers at all levels. “There were various activities such as “Top 10 Members,” “Best High-Quality Posts,” “My Device, My Home,” etc., and some related training sessions were held, which to some extent boosted everyone’s enthusiasm; however, new plans are still in the planning stage. I hope everyone will wait and see! HaiChuan will not disappoint anyone; only through active participation by all can we gather small amounts into something significant, just as drops of water combine to form an ocean. I’m a bit heated and have said some nonsense; I hope everyone can point out my mistakes!
