Which type of flow meter is suitable for measuring the flow rate of desalinated water? Vortex flow meter or ultrasonic flow meter (DN between 25 and 500, conductivity
In the past, orifice plates were used most often, but nowadays ultrasonic methods are more common; it depends on the circumstances of your own company. This post was last edited by feng_lvxyz on 2008-5-27 18:46]
Semiconductor companies generally use ultrasound more often.
A rotameter can be used, as it is intuitive and accurate. :$
If the flow rate is high, either an orifice plate or a vortex street meter can be used. Ultrasonic flowmeters have high requirements regarding the environment; if the operating conditions are poor (such as interference and noise), the measurement accuracy will **decrease**.
It also depends on the caliber size, precision requirements, and cost structure. For small-diameter applications with high precision requirements, tubular ultrasonic flowmeters or mass flowmeters can be used. For flows in the range of 100–300, vortex flowmeters, clamp-type ultrasonic flowmeters, or differential pressure orifice plates are recommended; for flows greater than 300, clamp-type ultrasonic flowmeters or differential pressure orifice plates are advised. If there are sufficient straight sections and the flow field is stable, an ultrasonic method will work just fine
For vortex flowmeters, ultrasonic flowmeters require high standards; the ones I’ve used have not worked well. For larger pipe diameters, orifice plates are used
Tianbao Heng Company offers an Italian dual-rotor flow meter that performs very well, features high precision, and comes at a reasonable price. There is also an ultrasonic flow meter from the American company Tengsheng; it provides better measurement results for liquids compared to similar products. Zhang Chunyong: 13180359388, 0316-2221733
The Rising Ultrasonic Flow Meters from the United States are very useful; you can get in touch with them. Tianbao Heng** International Company 13180359388 0316-2221733 Zhang Chunyong. I work in the field of flow meters; at first I wasn’t very confident in our flow meters, but after conducting several tests on-site, I saw that their performance was indeed good. Our Tengsheng flow meters have specific requirements regarding pipe size and temperature, but they have a wide range of applications. 1. Measurement modes: dual mode of time difference method and Doppler method; measurements can be carried out as long as the gas and suspended solid content in the liquid is no more than 10% of the volume.
2. Flow velocity measurement accuracy: ±0.5% of the measured value (accuracy over the full range).
3. Flow velocity range: 0.01–25 m/s.
4. Resolution: 0.025 cm/s.
5. Applicable pipe diameter: 6–6500 mm.
6. Minimum response time: 70 ms.
7. Number of measurement channels: 2.
8. Sensor transmission frequency: 8 MHz.
9. Sensor cable: equipped with a stainless steel flexible protective sleeve (unique feature).
10. Magnetic clip (for fixing the sensor): available exclusively.
Note: The minimum error for the DCT7088 is ±0.01 m/s; therefore, the ±0.5% accuracy applies only within the measurement range of 2 m/s to 15 m/s
A target flow meter can be used; it requires no maintenance.
Rotary flow meters, turbine flow meters, and vortex flow meters can be used.
