Issues with the hydrogen stripping column in Linde cryogenic gas separation?

In Linde’s cryogenic gas separation process, the feed to the hydrogen stripping column is divided into two streams: one enters at the top of the column, while the other stream is vaporized completely in a heat exchanger before entering the column. What other reasons are there besides refrigeration? Why must it be completely vaporized? I would appreciate some guidance from those with more experience, (*^__^*). How can it all be vaporized? The design should allow only about half of it to be vaporized, right?
