How many people are there in the studio currently? I see that your orders are all related to equipment; if you want to develop into a design firm, your talent pool is too narrow. Ordinary equipment manufacturers all have their own design and calculation teams, and clients usually hire design firms to handle the design work in the initial stage. Additionally, equipment manufacturers conduct their own checks and calculations when purchasing equipment. To be honest, I really can’t see how you manage to get orders. Unless it is a small equipment manufacturer that turns to an external design studio, small manufacturers do not possess the necessary certification for pressure vessels; even if you design something for them, they are unable to produce it. The only possibility that comes to mind is not to work on pressure vessel equipment; in that case, you have a better chance.
I understand outsourcing. In fact, starting a business in design is also a great option for those working in the chemical industry. Since there are already professionals available in the field of equipment, why not invest in a larger chemical company? It’s best to choose a company that has just been established in the chemical industry; you can bring your team there and work together with the company’s existing staff – or those who are being hired – in areas such as process engineering, electrical and instrumentation systems, civil engineering, structural design, water supply and drainage, etc., to help develop the process plans for the company. The company can then use the stamp of a design firm to finalize these plans, which allows it to save a significant amount of money. Surely there will be companies willing to do this. Later, a design institute (for research) was established. With investors, the path can go further.
