What level of education do people think is necessary to be considered an intellectual?

In my opinion, educational background does not determine whether one is an intellectual. First, what does the term “intellectual” refer to? Intellectual workers who participate in social activities by relying on scientific knowledge. Second, what are the basic characteristics of typical intellectuals? They have a high level of education, a strong grasp of scientific knowledge, engage less in physical labor, and their expertise is more emphasized. Thirdly, who exactly do intellectuals comprise in real life? Intellectual workers with the ability to think independently and a critical mindset, those working in fields such as scientific research, education, engineering and technology, and the arts, who rely primarily on mental work.
Educational background is a requirement; standards vary across different eras. In the past, those who were older usually had an associate degree or higher as their first level of education, and those who engaged in creative work and had achieved certain academic accomplishments or held certain positions were also considered eligible. In the future, those with a low educational level will not be eligible.
