Some brief insights from practicing injection molding and casting

I passed the Certified Chemical Engineer exam in 2016, the basic Certified Mechanical Engineer exam in 2017, and the certified mechanical engineer exam in 2018; I’d like to share some of my experiences here. Purpose: My reason for taking this exam is quite simple – the income from working as a designer is too low. I am in Shanghai, and the salary one can earn as a designer there is definitely at a low level. That’s why I want to obtain a certificate to increase my income. I obtained the certification in 2016, but it’s impossible to sell it, or the price is extremely low – not at all proportional to the risks involved. So I tried to obtain a registered engineer certificate again, but as soon as it was issued, the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development issued a directive requiring a nationwide investigation into such practices of using certificates on behalf of other entities. Some of my colleagues had their certificates registered with companies in other regions, and now they have received calls asking them to cancel those certificates. It will be absolutely impossible to use such certificates to earn extra money in the future, unless one is willing to give up their job. So those who want to make money by relying on the route of obtaining certificates and using them as a means to get jobs should give up this idea as soon as possible; it’s better to invest their time and effort in learning English and switching to work at a foreign company. I keep getting asked whether the CPA or CMA exams are difficult My thought is that it’s definitely not difficult, because it involves a sexual competency test – one only needs to pass it to succeed. Unlike the college entrance exam, where cut-off scores are determined on a proportional basis, here one just needs to score 60 points or higher; there’s no need to compare oneself with others. I have been fully dedicated to my major for 3 months; after all, it is my own field of study, and a solid foundation provides a lot of advantages for further study in this area. I dedicated six months to preparing for the specialized examination in motion graphics. Since it wasn’t my major, I read many books on other specialties; relying on just one review textbook wasn’t sufficient. Although the main topics covered in the exams are all in that single reference textbook, if one doesn’t read any other specialized books and doesn’t understand the background and context of the various concepts, it really becomes studying just for the sake of passing the exams. Therefore, my advice is that when reviewing, one must thoroughly understand the background and context of the knowledge points, read more books from other related fields, rather than focusing solely on review tutorials. Since you’ve already made an effort, why not master the knowledge and turn it into your own skill? Luck and mindset: Regarding focus, especially on movement-based focus, three of my colleagues have taken the exam for three consecutive years and all failed. This year, a colleague who was taking the exam for animal husbandry threw up from nervousness as he left the examination room; of course, the result was not good – he failed the exam by one day. They are all smart at work, and they also work very hard; their books are worn out from constant use. So under no circumstances should you regard obtaining a certificate as the last resort; your fate will not change just because of a certificate.
