Another greenway has been added to Wuhan – the Yuehu Greenway.
The weather in Wuhan has been quite good these days
Moon Lake got its name from the ancient city of Queyue. During the Chenghua period of the Ming dynasty, the course of the Han River changed, and its main stream flowed north of Guishan before joining the Yangtze River, leaving behind Moon Lake. Another theory is that Moon Lake got its name because it resembles a crescent moon. In ancient times, Moon Lake was “about eight li in length and one li in width,” with a water surface area of no less than 2 million square meters. In the central urban area of Wuhan, Yuehu is considered to be the lake with the richest cultural heritage. The famous Guqin Platform is located on the southeast shore of Yue Lake, where the story of mountains and flowing water is deeply ingrained in people’s hearts. Aspirations reach the high mountains; aspirations flow like water ; One guest is a woodcutter, the other is a zither player. The story of Yu Boya and Zhong Ziqi becoming soulmates has been widely circulated among scholars and the general public for thousands of years. Three dikes have been built across Guyue Lake over the years; one of these dikes now forms the foundation of the Hanyang section of the Jianghan Bridge, dividing the lake into East Guyue Lake and West Guyue Lake. Additionally, the Guyue Lake Culture and Art Park was constructed there. It has long since become the transportation hub of Wuhan, quietly witnessing the city’s continuous changes.
