Should the design institute designate manufacturers and contacts?

Sinopec Luoyang Design Institute has earned a good reputation in the industry, and it has also helped to boost the development of some smaller design firms in the surrounding area of Luoyang. I have seen the quotation documents (specification sheets) provided by a certain Zexi Petrochemical Engineering Co., Ltd.; these documents come with two attachments. A \"Description of Recommended Products for Certain Equipment,\" which lists one or two supplier brands recommended for ordering this equipment, along with the contact information for each brand. The other document is titled “Technical Requirements for Certain Equipment”. The first item among these technical requirements, the “Key Clause”, stipulates that: “The products supplied by the seller must be those designed specifically for the patented processes of So-and-so Ze Petrochemical Engineering Co., Ltd., or products that have been successfully used in similar-scale facilities of the same type for more than 3 years.” The design institute has been established for about 10 years.
If it’s not a patented device, it means that the design institute considers itself a \"monopoly entity\" and doesn’t give any regard to the client at all. . .
Personally, I don’t think it’s acceptable. If the owner requests it, an optional range can be provided. I’m not involved in design work; this is just my personal opinion

You should pay attention to the owners of this design institute: not only are specific product brands specified, but 80% of the ultimate agents for these products are those two fixed agents. It’s either Shanghai or Tianjin!
Current designs require the support of certain technology suppliers, and different manufacturers offer varying options. Designers do not specify a particular manufacturer, but rather indicate which company’s equipment will be used for the design.
A few small instruments. How much is wood? It’s no big deal. A designer from a design institute recommending a manufacturer – isn’t that mandatory? It’s probably just a suggestion, right? It’s like when you’re in a hurry to use the bathroom and someone points you in the direction of a toilet. Does the design institute really care about you going to that toilet to flush water? If it were me, I’d not bother paying attention to you at all. You can go use the women’s restroom if you want; you could even go to a pigsty and pee with the sows – that way you could save some tap water too. :lol
