2019 Summit Forum on Safe Production and Environmental Protection in the Petrochemical Industry I. Background of the Conference In recent years, environmental protection, clean production, and safety issues have plagued the world and received increased attention. Implementing a sustainable development strategy aimed at protecting human health and safety, as well as conserving energy and protecting the environment, has become the trend in global environmental development. The development of modern petrochemical industry has, on the one hand, brought substantial wealth and a comfortable living environment to humanity; on the other hand, it consumes large amounts of resources and causes severe environmental pollution, keeping the sector in a state of high energy consumption, high pollution, and high ecological damage. For petrochemical manufacturers, they are essentially exposed to toxic, harmful, flammable, and explosive chemical hazards; therefore, safety and environmental protection have become top priorities that these companies need to address urgently. Once an enterprise experiences accidents and various types of environmental pollution incidents, it not only affects the life safety and health of its employees and local residents ； It will also cause the company to suffer huge financial losses, and may even have a very negative impact on its reputation. To this end, Guangzhou Zhenwei International Exhibition Co., Ltd., under the guidance of the Management Committee of Dongying Port Economic Development Zone, held the \"2019 Petrochemical Safety Production and Environmental Protection Summit Forum\", inviting well-known domestic experts to discuss and exchange new technologies, new processes, and new requirements related to petrochemical safety production and environmental protection. The conference was held concurrently with the 2019 China (Dongying) International Petrochemical Trade Exhibition, providing a high-level platform for exchanges and cooperation to promote the green and safe development of Dongying’s petrochemical industry.
