Should a leader knock before entering a subordinate’s office?

This post was last edited by cflt111 on 2019-3-15 at 15:42. As the title suggests, should a supervisor knock before entering an employee’s office? Knocking on the door reflects a leader’s maturity as well as respect for subordinates; then is it a privilege of leaders not to knock?
In my opinion, why would you close it? It’s the top leader who decides to close it
One should knock on the door; those in higher positions should pay even more attention to their behavior!
Your view is truly bold! I’ve seen door controls that are operated by buttons at a major shopping mall here in our area. After knocking on the door, the manager pressed a button on the table and the door opened. If it’s not installed, don’t even press it.
That’s just how top leaders are; it’s normal. I’m just checking what the door looks like, haha

The courtesy of knocking on the door should be something that everyone possesses, regardless of their position. Why should there be hierarchies when it comes to etiquette?

Why would a lowly employee close doors? …… They close them either to have an affair, to be lazy, or to steal something. If a supervisor doesn’t knock, it’s because they just want to take in the view. Do you get it?
