Lummus possesses patented technology for butadiene production. Previously, due to the continuous rise in LPG prices and the increasing capacity for ethylene production (which led to more butadiene being produced as a by-product), there was no competitive advantage to using n-butane for butadiene production. In the current and future markets, this technology should yield certain benefits.
