The ten water gas furnaces are divided into three groups; one fan serves each group, and the blowing times for the furnaces in each group are staggered.
Are all ten furnaces turned on? Based on the layout of the furnaces and their operating conditions, three or four of them are set to have dual power supply. When one fan serves three furnaces, the operation times can be staggered.
Firstly, it is recommended to use three furnaces per group when going upstairs; then the arrangement should be made based on the availability of backup furnaces. However, in current conditions in atmospheric-pressure furnace plants, it is often not possible to use high-quality raw materials, so having backup furnaces available is necessary. If all four furnaces are used with low-quality raw materials, the cycle time will be long, so it is better to reduce the pressure slightly to achieve more stable furnace operation. If the raw materials are of poor quality or the furnace conditions are suboptimal, using pressurized blowing air is still the best choice from the perspective of long-term stable operation. It’s also worth mentioning that it depends on how the designer arranges the primary air duct network. Generally, the pipes are interconnected, with the main goal being to prevent normal production from being disrupted in case one fan fails. It’s sufficient to switch fans properly; it’s especially important to do so correctly, as incorrect switching can lead to issues with valves or abnormal operation of the furnace, potentially resulting in explosions or other serious accidents. One D600 fan supplies 4 furnaces; by installing check valves in appropriate locations (to ensure zero leakage), dual gas supply can be achieved.
On the upper floor, the D600 fan has an air volume of 600 cubic feet per minute, a wind pressure of 2.8 meters of water column, and a motor power of 350 kilowatts. It’s fine for exhaust purposes, but it’s likely not sufficient for driving production and generating profits :)
If all 10 furnaces are in operation, it is recommended to divide them into 3 groups: 3+3+4; If only 8 units need to be operated with 2 as spares, it is recommended to divide them into 2 groups of 5 each, with 1 blower serving as a spare.
