I would like to ask everyone: does anyone have data on the heat balance for Linde’s cryogenic methanol washing process? Any scale is fine. It would be best to have detailed information on the various sources of cooling capacity as well as the losses of cooling capacity, along with the calculations for the heat balance. It’s not very appropriate to discuss this topic here. Low-temperature methanol washing is a method for purifying and decarbonizing ammonia synthesis. It has nothing to do with methanol production at all. Please change it to the fertilizer production technology section.

After transformation and heat recovery, syngas must be desulfurized and decarburized before it can be fed into the methanol synthesis unit. Low-temperature methanol washing has been widely used for the desulfurization and decarburization of syngas; how come your answer doesn’t mention this at all? ? ? I’m dizzy! ! ! Regarding the original poster’s question, I think there are many organizations that possess this data, but who would dare to make it public? Linde’s confidentiality agreements are extremely strict; it’s millions of euros at stake – who would be foolish enough to post such things on a forum? !
I’m sorry for my lack of knowledge; I thought only synthetic ammonia was purified using this method.

The same question: low-temperature methanol washing is commonly used in coal-to-natural gas projects these days. Does anyone know how to calculate the cooling capacity?
This thing is generally not supposed to exist; our design team didn’t include it (only material balance is provided). But here’s a tip: when bidding for heat exchangers, ask the supplier to provide this algorithm along with detailed data sheets. Usually, they will provide them in order to win the bid. Hehe. We did have one, but I think we should respect the supplier’s hard work and also protect the patents (some of which exist). Of course, the main reason is that it can’t be found anymore:funk:
