Membrane technology is not a panacea, and I personally think it is not feasible in this situation.
For the fermented mixture, there are too many impurities, and the organic membrane is seriously polluted. The cost of nano-separation with inorganic membranes is too high. In addition, if there are many substances with molecular weights close to the target substance in the mixture, the separation effect will be even worse.
I think we can first use traditional filtration methods to remove some large particle impurities and things that pollute the membrane, and then use membrane separation
The membrane pseudo-multi-stage multi-effect evaporation process is used to concentrate the glycerin to 50%, and the effect is very good. But preprocessing must be done well. However, reverse osmosis, nanofiltration, pervaporation, and membrane distillation are not feasible, or the investment or energy consumption is high, or they are ineffective.
Personally, I think it’s ok, maybe it’s because the degree of separation effect is different.
First use filtration to remove impurities. Then use resin exchange. What is the separation effect?
If possible, preprocess it first and try again.
There is no economic benefit in putting it into practice.
