I really don’t know – are there any companies that can meet the wastewater discharge standards required by the paper industry?
From a technical perspective at present, GB3544-2008 is achievable. Some enterprises have already upgraded or are in the process of upgrading their equipment, thereby gaining the capability to meet emission standards; the key lies in controlling the rising costs. Differences in regional policies and supervision levels also lead to the possibility of unfair competition among different enterprises. Another issue is, for some enterprises, the sources of funding needed for upgrading environmental protection equipment and the level of support provided for environmental protection.
For businesses, the discharge of wastewater takes into account, on the one hand, the environmental pressures imposed on them, and on the other hand, cost considerations. When **the same pressure is applied to all businesses and it is necessary, then such costs become inevitable.
To avoid being eliminated by policies, it is necessary to increase costs for governance.
MVR (Mechanical Vapor Recompression), an evaporation technology introduced in China in recent years, uses only electricity as a source of energy – a clean energy source. It does not require steam or condensate water, occupies less space, and features fully automated control. It is capable of performing evaporation at low temperatures, around 40 degrees Celsius, making it particularly suitable for the evaporation of saline wastewater. Its energy consumption is low; the cost of evaporating one ton of water ranges from approximately 17 to 60 yuan.
