The integrated orifice plate flow meter consists of three main components: sensing, transmission, and computation/display. It is primarily suitable for industrial measurement of saturated steam, superheated steam, compressed air, mixed non-flammable and non-explosive gases, as well as hot water. It can be used for measuring the flow rate of these fluids, displaying the values, performing calculations, and enabling online automatic control in production processes. 1. The pressure guide tube must be filled with water or the high-temperature steam injected into it must have cooled down before operation can begin. In an integrated orifice flow meter, the straight sections before and after the orifice must be straight; the straight sections used for installing the orifice should be smooth. If they are not smooth, the flow coefficient must be multiplied by a roughness correction factor. 2. A sufficiently long straight pipe section is required before and after the throttling element. If the upstream side of the throttling element is an open space or a large container with a diameter of ≥2, then the length of the straight pipe between that open space or large container and the throttling element must be no less than 30 (15). If there are other local resistance elements between the throttling element and the open space or large container, then in addition to ensuring a minimum straight pipe length as specified between the throttling element and those local resistance elements, the total length of the straight pipe section from the open space to the throttling element must also be no less than 30(15). How to use a orifice plate flow meter correctly: 1. Fill the pressure guiding tube system with cold water as the pressure guiding medium; for measuring high-temperature steam, cold water is generally used for pressure guidance. When no steam is being pumped through the pipeline, open the check valve and the balance valve, close the drain valve, and pour cold water directly into the filling hole of the condenser until it is completely filled. Of course, it is also possible to close the balance valve and the pressure valve, and open the check valve to introduce high-temperature steam so that it can slowly cool down into water. This method is not generally used because the high steam temperature can easily damage the instruments. Special attention must be paid to ensure that the pressure guiding tube is filled with water when measuring high-temperature steam; it is strictly prohibited to put it into operation if the temperature is very high. Precautions for using orifice plate flow meters: 1. For measuring compressed air or cold water, use the medium itself as the pressure guiding medium. 2. For differential pressure transmitters, air or liquid must be removed; after the pressure guiding tube is filled with water, a small amount of gas may accumulate in the pressure chamber of the differential pressure transmitter, affecting pressure transmission, and this gas must be eliminated. 3. Unscrew the bolts at the bottom of the positive and negative pressure chambers to drain the liquid. Generally, instruments that are newly put into operation do not require drainage. Check that the pressure transfer pipeline system has no leaks, close all valves, and prepare for operation.
