In 2014, the Hydril TI-350T fully hydraulic drill was introduced to Asia for the first time, being adopted by Chuan Dong Drilling Company. It was named one of Sichuan Qinghai’s Top 10 Outstanding Young People. Industry experts generally believe that its high level of intelligence will trigger a revolution in drilling production processes, workflows, and methods. Team 60001 was the first team to carry out this revolution; of the 7 officials assigned when it was formed, only Gao Peng is still with them today. At 32, he dedicated the best five years of his youth to hydraulic drilling rigs. Starting as an apprentice and rising to become the youngest team leader, he led his team to win various honors from Sichuan Qingdao Drilling Company, including those such as \"Gold Medal Team,\" \"Advanced Collective,\" \"Youth Civilization Unit,\" \"Worker Pioneer Unit,\" and \"Advanced Grassroots Party Organization.\" He strived to achieve outstanding results that were commensurate with these top-notch equipment. To outsiders, Gao Peng seems outstanding because of the hydraulic drill, but we all know the effort he puts in. ”Song Xin has worked with Gao Peng for the longest time; in his view, Gao Peng’s pursuit of personal growth is far less intense than his desire to see all team members develop. By taking active steps to build a \"talent base,\" the company develops a 5-year personal career plan for each employee, provides training at different levels, enhances the professional skills of operators, and places emphasis on developing the management abilities of team leaders. Establish a comprehensive quantitative performance assessment system for the employees of Team 60001, with daily evaluations of work completion, and monthly assessments of professional ethics, knowledge required for the position, and operational skills. Combining criticism with encouragement, as well as rewards with penalties, this approach helps to guide employees in planning their development. Over two years, 50% of the key members of Team 60001 were transferred elsewhere; 4 workers took on management roles, 1 was selected as a trainer, and 4 technical staff members became team leaders and instructors. In June 2018, upon the unanimous recommendation of his colleagues, Gao Peng was nominated for the third edition of Sichuan Qingdao Drilling Company’s Top 10 Outstanding Young Professionals. He felt a bit embarrassed: “I just wanted to do something useful for my teammates; I never expected to become one of the representatives of the Chuanqing youth. I feel very lucky.” ” Compared to the prestige associated with hydraulic drills, Gao Peng felt more pressure. In November 2015, the hydraulic drill completed its first drilling job in Weiyan, taking 90 days longer than traditional drills, which left Gao Peng, who was the technical supervisor at the time, very dissatisfied. With no existing references on using such drilling rigs for shale gas exploration, he delved into theoretical manuals and databases of actual drilling parameters in search of answers, identified the causes of problems, optimized the procedures, and ensured better coordination; as a result, the second well achieved excellent results with a reduction in drilling time of 104.88 days and an increase in drilling speed of 70%. In 2017, Liu Hongbin, deputy general manager of China National Petroleum Corporation, visited the hydraulic drilling rigs to inspect the work being carried out. He examined the digital management systems in use at those sites; for example, the integration of wireless network communication technologies for the drilling rigs with digital facilities on-site enabled the synchronized transmission of images, voice messages, and data between the logistics department and the field operations” ; For example, they are very satisfied with 8 management models such as labeling incoming materials with electronic codes, establishing digital records of materials, automatically removing inventory by scanning codes when materials are used, and adopting a \"supermarket-style\" approach to material management. These are the results of Gao Peng’s two to three years of effort, some of which have already been widely adopted by the drilling teams. Gao Peng believes that, thanks to the inherent advantages of high intelligence in hydraulic drilling rigs, efforts in the “four modernizations” drive must be at the forefront. Simultaneously implemented is the autonomous management of equipment. The high depreciation costs of hydraulic drilling rigs pose significant operational pressures. To reduce purchase and time costs, Gao Peng took the lead in compiling a \"Compilation of Measures for Handling Malfunctions in Hydraulic Drilling Rig Equipment,\" and combined this with targeted training to improve employees’ skills in operation and maintenance. While ensuring safe production, Gao Peng took the lead in conducting surveys and measurements on 200 types of components; 60% of these components were made domestically, and more than 300 sets of key components were no longer dependent on imports. Gao Peng, who possesses technical expertise, management skills, and the ability to innovate, is undoubtedly one of Sichuan Qinghai’s \"Top 10 Talent\". Upon learning the news, he set his goal for 2019: to complete five projects and reach an annual drilling depth of 25,000 meters.
Sichuan Qingdao’s Top 10 Outstanding Young People (III): On March 19, the first sandstorm of 2019* hit the Tarim Basin. For oil workers who drill wells in the heart of the Taklamakan Desert, this marked the beginning of a period of sandstorms that would last for half a year. Watching the sand and dust fill the air, Wen Yanjun, the platform manager of the 70510 drilling team, felt anxious. The Zhonggu 102-H13 well that they were drilling was only over 70 meters away from completion, and they couldn’t allow the weather to delay its finishing. Well Zhonggu 102-H13 was the first well drilled by Team 70510 in 2019, and Wen Yanjun placed high expectations on this well, hoping to achieve excellent results and maintain the team’s strong performance and rapid progress. In 2018, Team 70510 completed two drilling campaigns, achieving a total drilling depth of 13,677 meters. In terms of drilling progress, efficiency generation, and team performance evaluations, it ranks among the top drilling teams in the Xinjiang branch, and was recognized as an advanced collective for the year 2018. Well Tower 12-H7, one of the key scientific research projects they were responsible for drilling, received high praise from the client, and Wen Yanjun was awarded the title of Best Platform Manager in the tower. In addition, he was awarded the title of one of the Top 10 Outstanding Young Professionals at Sichuan Qingdao Drilling Company, and was recognized as a Model Worker at the Xinjiang branch for the year 2018. A year full of achievements always inspires people to strive for higher goals. Wen Yanjun observed everything at the drilling site through the window of the control room, occasionally using the walkie-talkie to inquire about the drilling parameters. Amidst the sandstorm, diesel engines roar, kelly bars spin, and the derrick ropes sway in the wind. Every hour, Wen Yanjun would go to each post and check every piece of equipment; it was a habit he had developed since becoming an engineer, even during sandstorms. At the age of 21, Wen Yanjun, who had graduated from university with a degree in computer science, entered an oil drilling site as a contract worker. Over 14 years, he started as a driller, worked as an assistant drill master, technician, engineer, deputy platform manager and technical supervisor, as well as party branch secretary, gradually rising to become the platform manager. He and his team have set multiple drilling records, including the deepest horizontal well in China’s onshore sector, and he has consistently been honored with awards. Valuing honor is a common trait among those who excel; Wen Yanjun aims to achieve great things in 2019: completing four projects and three more tasks throughout the year, with an annual progress of over 20,000 meters, in an effort to break the record of 24,000 meters set by another team as the highest annual progress for a single team in the Tarim region. To achieve this goal, he was like a spring that had been wound up, spinning tirelessly. On January 5th, drilling began on well Zhonggu 102-H13; at that time, Wen Yanjun, who was on leave, was staying with his wife during her postpartum recovery period ; On January 31, Well Zhonggu 102-H13 was drilled to a depth of 5,225 meters in 25 days, setting a record for the highest monthly drilling progress in the central-western Tarim Basin area. Upon learning of this, Wen Yanjun could no longer stay put; he didn’t care that his daughter had just been discharged from the hospital, nor did he have the heart to spend the New Year with his family. The wife understood his thoughts and said, “The Spring Festival is in three days. It’s very important to ensure safe production during the festival. Drilling the first well of the new year is meant to boost morale, so you’d better go back to the team!” ” On the evening of February 1, Wen Yanjun was already at the site of Well Zhonggu 102-H13. On February 14, Well SGO 102-H13 was drilled over a period of 40 days to a completion depth of 6,018 meters in the second drilling stage. The following two drilling campaigns were completed in just 12.79 days, and its efficient production organization and ability to coordinate different processes served as a model for other drilling teams to follow. At the production meeting of the Xinjiang branch, a leader said that for Well 102-H13 in Team 70510, the timing of the secondary development and production activities was determined with precision down to the hour, which is something worth learning from by everyone. To achieve results and win honors, and to cherish those honors even after obtaining them – Wen Yanjun values honors, but places even greater emphasis on action. He said that if it wasn’t spelled that way, how could one live up to those titles? How could one have the decency to be among the top ten?
