In the chemical industry, is there still a future for those with a non-related major?

My major isn’t related to this field, and I’m worried that I won’t be able to acquire the necessary knowledge, but I’m still working hard. Is there any hope?
It depends on whether there is dedication, effective methods, flexible thinking, as well as appropriate platforms and environments. If all these are in place, the results can be twice as good with half the effort; perhaps even ten times or a hundred times better, it’s hard to say. If you’ve made up your mind, go for it; at an age when you should still be exploring, don’t think about settling down.
A few students majoring in chemical engineering have also joined other industries, with some making quite a big shift (for example, in automotive dashboard design)
The question is: do you prefer your current job, or the field you studied before?
