On May 30th throughout history, the following significant events took place. I. On May 30, 1988, the Central Committee decided to establish the magazine Qiushi. On that date, the Central Committee made a decision: in order to meet the requirements of the new situation brought about by reform and opening up, and in accordance with the principles of Marxism, while taking into account the specific conditions of China’s economic and social development, it was necessary to conduct theoretical exploration and research in order to promote further development of Marxist theory. The Central Committee decided to entrust the Central Party School with the task of creating a theoretical publication for the entire Party, namely the magazine Qiushi. General guiding principle: Guided by the Party’s basic line in the primary stage of socialism, comprehensively promote the concept of one focus and two fundamental points, use reform as a framework to guide all aspects of development, and prevent both rigidity and liberalization. The target readers of the publication are cadres at the county level and above, as well as theoretical propaganda workers. II. On May 30, 1952, efforts were made to reorganize and strengthen the Party on the basis of the \"Three-Anti\" campaign. III. On May 30, 1939, Chen Yun put forward six criteria for Party members. IV. On May 30, 1925, the May 30th Movement broke out. On that day, the May 30th Movement erupted in Shanghai; it had an impact across China and shocked the whole world. Imperialist powers such as Britain, the United States, and Japan not only supported different factions within China, competing with one another and leading to years of civil war, but they also engaged in brutal economic exploitation of the Chinese people. They invest in China, set up factories, and plunder wealth. In 1924 alone, 2 billion silver dollars were seized from China. Among them, Japan has 41 spinning mills in China, employing nearly 90,000 Chinese workers. Shanghai was an important stronghold for imperialist economic aggression, and Japan established more than a dozen spinning mills there. To extract more profits, Japanese capitalists cruelly abused Chinese workers. Workers arrive at the factory before 5:30 every morning and work continuously for 12 to 26 hours, with no time even for meals, and their wages are extremely low. The oppression by imperialism filled the workers with great anger, leading to a strike on May 15, 1925. The capitalists threaten to shut down factories, claiming that they will use such actions to starve Chinese workers to death. Angry workers pushed down the iron gates and rushed into the factory, demanding that the capitalists pay them their wages. Japanese capitalists actually shot at the workers, leaving many of them injured on the spot. The beating to death of 20-year-old worker Gu Zhenghong was the immediate trigger for the outbreak of the May 30th Movement. 　　On May 30, more than 2,000 students from Shanghai took to the streets to protest, giving speeches about how Japanese capitalists brutally killed Gu Zhenghong and arrested workers. The concession authorities, led by the UK, deployed armed police to arrest students; at the Laozha police station alone, hundreds of students were arrested. Students and citizens are extremely angry at the barbaric acts of imperialism. On the afternoon of May 30, over 10,000 people gathered around the Laozha Detention Center, demanding the release of the arrested students. British officers ordered their men to fire on unarmed civilians; dozens of foreign police officers opened fire in a bloody attack, killing over 10 people on the spot, injuring dozens more, and arresting over 40 people. This is the shocking May 30th Massacre that shocked the world. 　　After the tragedy, the Shanghai Federation of Industry and Commerce organized a demonstration of 200,000 people against imperialism, calling for strikes, business closures, and school boycotts, and urging the people to abolish all unequal treaties and eliminate all privileges held by imperialism in China. The May 30th Movement, centered in Shanghai, quickly spread across the country, giving rise to a nationwide anti-imperialist movement. Following the May 4th Movement, this movement further awakened the anti-imperialist spirit of the Chinese people, and it served as the prelude to the revolutionary upsurge across the country during the First Civil War.
