I made two pots of zongzi this afternoon; no photos available as they are still cooking in the pot. . . . .
It has changed from a festive food to a fast-food item
There won’t be a penny left by tomorrow, but half a meter remains unwrapped. Two pots of five jin of rice each.
No one has ever asked what’s inside
I can’t find good zongzi leaves around me; I buy them on Xiaohongshu. They are a bit larger than those available in physical stores, which makes it easier to wrap the zongzi with them.
Filled with honey dates, kidney beans, and Chinese yam. . . .
I bought it online too; there are also zongzi leaves in supermarkets.
I haven’t eaten it yet, but it must be delicious
