Guangxi Hua Yi New Materials Co., Ltd. is a subsidiary of Shanghai Hua Yi Group; it is responsible for the construction and production management of the integrated chemical materials facility in Qinzhou, Guangxi, under Shanghai Hua Yi (Group) Company. Shanghai Huayi (Group) Company is a large-scale enterprise group established through asset restructuring, authorized by the Shanghai State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission. With a history of over a century, its core business areas include energy chemicals, green tires, advanced materials, fine chemicals, and chemical services. The company has created numerous well-known Chinese brands as well as time-honored Chinese brands such as “Shuangqian”, “Huilii”, “BaiXiang”, “ShanPai”, “Baili”, and “FeiHu”. The Huayi Qinzhou Chemical New Materials Integration Base is located in the Qinzhou Petrochemical Industrial Park in Guangxi. The total planned investment is around 70 billion yuan, with an expected output value of about 65 billion yuan; the project will be implemented in phases. The investment covers four major industrial chains: coal chemical industry, light hydrocarbon cracking, salt chemical industry, and downstream petrochemical industry. It involves more than 40 types of chemical products, with an annual production volume of 6.35 million tons. One of these phases involves an investment of 13.6 billion yuan, primarily for the coal chemical industry chain, and it was put into operation in 2020. Guangxi Huayi New Materials Co., Ltd. is responsible for the second-phase project, with an initial total investment of 9 billion yuan. The project’s production capacity includes 750,000 tons per year of propylene produced via propane dehydrogenation, 300,000 tons per year of butanol synthesized through carbonylation, 400,000 tons per year of acrylic acid, 400,000 tons per year of butyl acrylate, 84,000 tons per year of high-purity acrylic acid, and 100,000 tons per year of superabsorbent polymers (SAP). It also features supporting facilities such as substation stations, circulating water systems, intermediate storage tanks, storage areas for raw materials and finished products, and flares, in addition to various other utility and auxiliary systems. Current efforts are being made at full speed to carry out preliminary tasks such as feasibility studies, environmental impact assessments, safety evaluations, stability assessments, and energy efficiency evaluations, with the goal of starting construction by the end of October 2019.
