Maximum allowable temperature and actual operating temperature of heat transfer oil: Heat transfer oil of any quality will decompose at high temperatures; therefore, there is a maximum allowable temperature for each specific grade of heat transfer oil. This maximum allowable temperature must be higher than the rated heating temperature specified in the design of the organic heat carrier furnace, as well as higher than the highest actual operating temperature that any part of the furnace exposed to heat may reach. It is not permissible to allow the heat transfer oil to exceed its maximum allowable temperature during use. Within the specified temperature range, the cracking rate of heat transfer oil increases as the temperature rises; therefore, the lower the actual operating temperature of the heat transfer oil, and the greater the difference between this temperature and the allowable temperature, the longer its service life will be. In practical use, the maximum allowable temperature of the heat transfer oil selected should be at least 30°C higher than the actual operating temperature. I would like to ask whether triphenylhydride is suitable for use at 240°C? What is the viscosity at that temperature? Is there a big difference in liquidity at 300°C?
