To all relevant parties: As an efficient, clean, and sustainable \"carbon-free\" energy source, hydrogen has attracted widespread attention from countries around the world. Developing the hydrogen energy industry is one of the strategic options for humanity to break free from its dependence on fossil fuels and ensure energy security. Coal-based hydrogen production is one of the currently more economical and reliable methods for obtaining hydrogen on a large scale. In order to fully implement Comrade **’s Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era and the Party’s * spirit, to advance the energy revolution further, to explore new approaches for efficient hydrogen production from coal, hydrogen derived from industrial by-products, and the efficient use of hydrogen energy, and to gain an advantage in the new round of scientific and technological revolutions and industrial transformations, the China Coal Processing and Utilization Association and the China Petroleum and Petrochemical Engineering Research Society have decided to hold the “First China Hydrogen Production from Coal and Hydrogen Energy Industry Development Conference” in Beijing on August 22, 2019. The conference was organized by the Coal Conversion Branch of the China Coal Processing and Utilization Association and the Beijing Pande Energy Consulting Center. The conference aims to promote the transformation and upgrading of China’s energy sector as well as the development of an ecological civilization, and to enhance the efficient and clean use of coal in the country. It will feature in-depth exchanges and discussions on various topics, including coal-to-hydrogen production both domestically and internationally, hydrogen produced as a by-product of industrial processes, the development and utilization of hydrogen energy as well as its storage and transportation, hydrogen refueling technologies, hydrogen fuel cell technologies, the use of renewable energy sources, energy security strategies, and the transformation of the energy sector. Main contents of the conference (I) Macroeconomic environment for the development of coal-based hydrogen industry: 1. Analysis of the development, advantages, and trends of hydrogen energy industry in China, as well as the construction of supporting infrastructure (including the establishment of standards for hydrogen energy utilization) ； 2. Analysis of industrial chain development and investment opportunities ； (II) Technology and Economics of Coal-to-Hydrogen Production 3. Production technologies, energy efficiency, carbon emissions, costs, and economic analysis of coal-to-hydrogen production, hydrogen produced as a by-product of coal processing, and hydrogen generated as a by-product in other industries ； 4. Comparative analysis of hydrogen production via methanol and water electrolysis (including production technology, energy efficiency, carbon emissions, cost, and economics) ； 5. Domestic and international technologies and equipment for hydrogen purification and impurity removal, storage and transportation technologies for hydrogen energy (liquid hydrogen, hydrogen gas), economic and competitiveness analysis, technologies for building hydrogen refueling stations, as well as their operation and layout ； 6. Cases of closed-loop operation of hydrogen energy in industrial parks and analysis of security safeguards for the hydrogen energy industry chain ； (III) Applications of coal-based hydrogen production – Hydrogen fuel cells 7. Research, development, and application of hydrogen fuel cell stacks and system integration technologies ； Other matters of the conference: 1. A conference fee will be charged; 2,800 yuan per person for member organizations, and 3,500 yuan per person for other organizations. Accommodation will be arranged separately at the participant’s own expense. The conference arrangements will be handled by Beijing Fandi Energy Consulting Center.
