Our company has a heating furnace, and the technical specifications for concrete construction require that the chlorine content in the concrete be low. By using deionized water, can we then be assured that the chlorine content will not exceed the allowed limits? Please give me some advice!
The chloride content in the deionized water we use is very low, at only 10 max ppm wt. If your deionized water is of good quality as well, there definitely won’t be any problem

Generally, the chloride level in tap water does not exceed the permissible limits, so there is no need to use desalinated water – but if your company is not concerned about waste, then using desalinated water is certainly fine

Desalinated water for concrete? What amount of chloride ions is it required? Is it necessary?
Is the author referring to residual chlorine or chloride ions? The standards for tap water can be met!

If the chlorine content in tap water does not meet the requirements, desalinated water can be used; however, the cost will be higher. Using lightly desalinated water will suffice
I believe it is necessary to first determine what level of chlorides is required for construction water, and then compare the chloride content in tap water/well water/RO water; as long as the basic requirements are met, that will suffice. The chloride content in desalinated water is very low, but the cost of treating it is also relatively high; it’s at least 5 yuan in summer, and even higher in winter. It seems wasteful to use such expensive water for construction purposes. Original poster, please think it over!
The original poster must be really rich; other factories have to consider the costs associated with using desalinated water, yet you use it for concrete? ? Under normal circumstances, the chlorine level doesn’t exceed the limits; and even if it does, there’s no need to use deionized water, right? ? A simple treatment will do!
Haha, amazing! I think you should consult the design firm first. Actually, using desalinated water won’t cost that much – it’s not like you’re using it to wash the concrete! Hehe!
