Why is the liquid discharged from the separator at the outlet of the pressure stabilizer much more foul-smelling than that discharged from the oil-gas separator at the top of the distillation tower?
The hydrogen sulfide content in the wash water discharged from the separator tank at the compressor outlet is high.
Generally, the acidic water from the reflux tank at the top of the distillation tower is used for washing rich gas; therefore, the water discharged stably will certainly have higher levels of hydrogen sulfide and ammonia compared to that acidic water from the distillation tower top, which means it will also have a stronger odor.
There is no water injection at the outlet of our compressor. As mentioned on the third floor, the wash water discharged from the separation tank at the compressor’s outlet contains high levels of hydrogen sulfide. Since it’s all the same enriched gas, why does it contain high levels of hydrogen sulfide after being compressed by the compressor?
It’s mainly due to stress. The water separated at the top has a lower concentration of sulfides; when it is reinjected into the compressed rich gas, the high pressure increases the solubility of sulfides, particularly hydrogen sulfide, which is why the odor emitted is stronger.
I still don’t quite understand. Is it because high pressure causes hydrogen sulfide to separate, while when there is no compression, it remains as a mixture of gas in which hydrogen sulfide has not separated? ? ? ? ?

Due to its high solubility at high pressures, when wash water rich in hydrogen sulfide is discharged from high pressure to low pressure, volatilization increases, resulting in a stronger odor.
