As an important part of China’s manufacturing sector, the instrumentation industry has played a significant role in driving the development of the national economy. Today, in terms of both total industrial output and the number of products produced, China is undoubtedly a major manufacturing country; however, there is still a gap before it can become a true manufacturing powerhouse. ”Liu Zhaobin, president of the China Quality Ten Thousand Miles Promotion Association, believes that quality is the ‘lifeblood’ of a product. At present, our country has become a major producer of common instruments and meters, with an ample supply capacity in place. However, the level of basic research in China’s instrumentation manufacturing industry is not sufficient, and there are still some shortcomings in the manufacturing technologies related to instruments. In particular, some key technologies have not been properly resolved, which results in unstable performance of high-end instrument products, as well as relatively low precision and reliability. There is an urgent need to improve the quality of these products. “To ensure good quality, a strong technical foundation is necessary, including robust systems for **measurement, standards, certification, inspection and testing, as well as market supervision. ”Liu Zhaobin explained that currently, the measurement coverage rate among manufacturing enterprises in China is around 50%, and various technical indicators fail to reach a high-precision standard. Currently, there are 2,734 such \"hidden champions\" among small and medium-sized enterprises worldwide, of which Germany has over 1,300. They rely on a long-term commitment to excellence, perseverance, and meticulous attention to detail, as well as a steadfast focus on their own product areas. Instrument manufacturing is a slow-paced industry; it cannot succeed without a spirit of craftsmanship. The ancients said, “Without taking small steps, one cannot reach a thousand miles.” The high-quality development of the instrumentation manufacturing industry must keep pace with the trends of the times and the laws governing the development of the manufacturing sector. Only by resolving the various issues faced by China’s instrumentation manufacturing industry can its future be brighter.
