It is said that Huizhou’s refining capacity will increase by another 10 million tons per year in terms of oil refining, and by 1 million tons per year in terms of ethylene production. An integrated project of this kind will include equipment for the production of various chemical products. Does anyone know anything about this?

The ethylene production in Huizhou is likely to be carried out by Shell in the South China Sea. Their current production capacity is designed to be 600,000 tons per year, and they are about to implement a project to overcome capacity constraints by adding another cracking unit, thereby increasing the production capacity to 800,000 tons per year. This doesn’t seem to be the project mentioned by the original poster. I’m not sure whether the project in question is a wholly-owned or joint venture project; approval processes for such large-scale projects take a long time. Meanwhile, the oil refining project with an annual capacity of 10 million tons seems to be ready for operation – will a new project be launched soon?
