I would like to ask what FC means, which is indicated next to the control valve used for adjusting the separator interface in a PID system? Some say it’s flow control, while others say it’s an emergency shutdown – what exactly is it?

FC: Fail close – the control valve closes in the event of an interruption or failure in the instrument air supply. That is, the gas control valve operates in fail-open mode: it opens when the instrument air supply is interrupted or fails. That is, the air shut-off valve FL: Fail Lock – when the instrument air supply is interrupted or fails, the control valve remains in its original position
