To ensure the reliable and stable operation of the transmission circuit, the following requirements should be taken into account when selecting the installation location for the electromagnetic flowmeter: 1. A location free from vibration and strong electromagnetic fields (such as areas near large motors or frequency converters); 2. Install it as vertically as possible; if horizontal installation is necessary, it should be placed at a low position, not at the top of the pipe, to ensure the pipe is filled completely and to prevent bubbles from forming ; 3. Requirements for straight pipe sections: it is advisable to ensure a length of 10 times the pipe diameter in front and 5 times the pipe diameter behind ; 4. When installing in a welded manner, be careful not to weld the instrument, to prevent damage to the flow meter ; 5. The enclosure should be grounded as much as possible; the shield wire should be grounded at one end, and the grounding point must not share the same ground connection as high-voltage circuits ; 7. If ease of maintenance is a priority, the installation location must be chosen carefully to meet the maintenance requirements. At the same time, a bypass pipe can be installed so that the fluid flows through it in case of a failure ; 8. Avoid direct sunlight and high-temperature areas, as this can cause demagnetization ; 9. Other requirements to consider: signal wiring should not be run alongside high-voltage circuits. For accurate measurement, the following installation requirements should be taken into account when selecting the location on the pipe for the electromagnetic flowmeter: ⑴ The sensor can be installed on a straight pipe, as well as on a horizontal or inclined pipe, provided that the line connecting the centers of the two electrodes remains horizontal. ⑵ The medium should flow fully within the pipe at the installation location, to prevent gas from accumulating in the pipe or adhering to the electrodes. ⑶ For liquid-solid two-phase fluids, it is best to install the sensor vertically, so as to ensure even wear of the sensor lining and extend its service life. ⑷ When the medium in the pipeline is not at full level at the installation location of the flow meter, it is possible to raise the pipeline section behind the flow meter to ensure that the pipeline is filled with fluid; it is strictly prohibited to install the flow meter at the highest point of the pipeline or at the outlet. ⑸ Modify the installation method of the pipeline: When the flow rate of the medium does not meet the requirements, a flow meter with a smaller diameter should be used. In such cases, an eccentric cone tube or part of the pipeline should be modified to match the diameter of the sensor. However, the straight sections before and after the sensor must satisfy the following conditions: the straight section before the sensor should be at least 5DN in length, while the straight section after it should be at least 2DN in length (DN refers to the pipe diameter). ⑹ The straight sections before and after the flow meter should be at least 5DN in length ahead of it, and at least 2DN in length behind it. Selecting an appropriate location for installing the electromagnetic flow meter and installing it correctly according to the instructions will help ensure its reliability in daily use.
