How to choose the material for an electromagnetic flowmeter? As a commonly used flow measurement instrument, the choice of material for electromagnetic flowmeters is also an important factor. I. Selection of electrode material 1. Stainless steel (0Cr18Ni12Mo2Ti). Suitable for nitric acid, sulfuric acid with less than 5% at room temperature, boiling phosphoric acid, formic acid, alkaline solutions, sulfurous acid under certain pressure, seawater, and acetic acid. 2. Hastelloy B, Hastelloy C. It can be used in seawater and brine. 3. Titanium. Suitable for seawater, various chlorides and hypochlorous acids, oxidizing acids (including fuming nitric acid), organic acids, alkalis, etc. 4. Tungsten. All chemical media other than hydrofluoric acid, fuming sulfuric acid, and alkalis can be used, including hydrochloric acid, nitric acid with a boiling point appropriate, and sulfuric acid at <175°C. 5. Platinum. It can be used with various acids, bases, and salts, but not with aqua regia. II. Selection of lining materials for electromagnetic flowmeters 1. Rubber. It possesses excellent elasticity, high tensile strength, good wear resistance, and resistance to mild acids and bases; it can be used to measure water, sewage, sludge, and mineral slurries. 2. Polyurethane. It has excellent wear resistance, but poor resistance to acids and alkalis; it can measure coal slurry, mud, and mineral slurries subject to severe wear. 3. Polytetrafluoroethylene. It is resistant to boiling hydrochloric acid, sulfuric acid, nitric acid, aqua regia, concentrated alkalis, and various organic solvents; it has good wear resistance but poor adhesion properties.
