Chemical dosing pumps are used to transport various media, including both ordinary substances and corrosive special substances. Therefore, the choice of pump head is crucial; to be suitable for different media, it is necessary to select an appropriate material for the pump head. Commonly used materials for pump heads in chemical dosing pumps include PP, PVC, PTFE, and SS316. PP: It is easy to mold, has a low cost, and is resistant to acids and alkalis as well as to certain high temperatures; however, it is not suitable for organic solvents, strong acids and alkalis, or liquids containing hypochlorite ions. Concentration is limited. PVC: It is easy to shape, has a low cost, and is resistant to acids and alkalis; however, it is not suitable for use with organic solvents, strong acids and alkalis, or liquids at temperatures above 40°C. It is not appropriate for use in the food and drinking water industries, and it is toxic – as a result, PVC bags are no longer used for food packaging. PTFE: Suitable for various media, resistant to high temperatures, but difficult to shape and expensive; SS316: Suitable for organic solvents and high-temperature liquids, but not resistant to strong acids.
