Difficult to transform the chemical industry

I graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering and Technology. After graduation, I worked in factories, focusing on process production and management tasks. Before quitting my job, I held a mid-level position there. Now that I’m married, I want to work in the city, but there are no factories there. At first, I didn’t know which companies to apply to; I applied for positions as quality inspectors and for work related to environmental impact assessment, and I received interview invitations for those roles. I was rejected in both interviews for the quality inspector positions due to a lack of industry experience. The third interview was for a role as an environmental impact assessment specialist, with a trial period of 3–6 months; the salary during this trial period was 3,000 yuan per month. Social insurance would only be provided after 6 months, regardless of when I became a full-time employee. The commission for completing reports was roughly 400–500 yuan per report. According to the interviewer, with hard work on the part of ordinary people, they can earn around 5,000 yuan per month after one year, and around 6,000–7,000 yuan per month after three years – but this is only possible if they work very hard and often work overtime. Additionally, it seems there is little room for career advancement; this is reflected in the difficulty of preparing reports, which in turn determines the amount of money one receives each month. I passed the interview, but I have some concerns: First, the salary difference compared to my previous job is quite large, which is hard for me to accept psychologically. Additionally, I’m not familiar with the current market conditions in the environmental assessment industry (I’m based in Changchun) ； Second, social insurance payments are made after 6 months, and I think the company isn’t legitimate; I’m not sure if there might be delays in paying salaries. Lately, I’ve been doubting myself intensely and feeling some regret; without a certificate, I advise those who are considering changing careers to first build up their own skills, otherwise they really won’t even know what they’re capable of doing.
The two jobs you applied for are both entry-level positions, meant for recent graduates. There are very few options available for restricting the workplace. If the salary is so low, what’s the point of going home? It’s better to return to a place where the salary is higher

It’s all achieved through hard work. The poster is 31 years old, which is still a good age; by striving to obtain a few more certificates in the coming years, things should improve quite quickly
I suddenly felt like saying it. . . Why not go to big cities to deliver food? It’s obvious from one’s age. . . I think it might be better to go to the south and seek a middle-management position there
Keep it up. I’ve been looking for a job for over a year before I found one that was relatively suitable. . Take your time. Work first, then look for it. It’s not that we’re not suited for good jobs. . When there are shortages in essential tasks, fill them in in a timely manner. Also, it’s more reliable when it’s through a referral from someone you know. Ask more friends and peers.
I feel the same as the original poster, it’s just that I don’t have the courage to quit my job without notice like them! Keep it up, there will be opportunities!
