It is preferable to install the flow meter indoors; if installation outdoors is necessary, it should be protected from rain, water accumulation, and direct sunlight, and measures should be taken to prevent moisture and UV damage. c. Flowmeters should be avoided from being installed in environments containing corrosive gases; if installation is necessary, ventilation measures must be in place. d. To facilitate installation, maintenance, and upkeep, sufficient installation space is required around the flow meter. e. The installation location of the flow meter should be free from magnetic fields and strong vibration sources; if the pipes vibrate significantly, supports to fix the pipes should be installed on both sides of the flow meter. 2. Tubular electromagnetic flowmeters 2.1 Requirements for straight sections In order to reduce the effects of eddies and flow field distortions, there are certain requirements regarding the length of the straight sections before and after the installation of the electromagnetic flowmeter; otherwise, it will affect the measurement accuracy (a flow straightener can also be used, and it is advisable to avoid installing the flowmeter near control valves or valves that are partially open).
