Try using Aspen; it’s good for simulating individual devices and processes. If that doesn’t work, you can simply program it yourself. After all, for a single device, programming isn’t difficult once the algorithm is clear.
A closed-loop cooling tower consists of coiled tubes, fans, pipeline pumps, nozzles, exhaust pipes, and water baffle plates. The process flow is as follows: the cooling water required is pumped under pressure by a cooling water pump and sent to the cooling coiled tubes of the closed-loop cooling tower. The spray pump draws water from the cooling tower basin to the spray water distributor located above the heat exchange tube bundle, where the water is sprayed onto the outer surface of the cooling coils. This causes the water to absorb the heat from the cooling water inside the coils, thereby reducing its temperature. More or less that’s it; the cooling coil is a shaped tube
Closed-type cooling towers are not suitable for use with HTRI or Aspen; they use a mixture of water and air as a coolant to cool the fluid inside the tubes. You’ll have to find another solution. We use software that we developed ourselves, but I’ve only seen the design process and results once, so I’m unable to help you. I’m sorry about that.
