I have a question for everyone: Blockages often occur in the tubes of the reboiler in distillation towers. How can this be prevented? Are there any effective ways to deal with blocked reboilers? ? ? :L: Thank you all for your responses. I would like to add another question: we are a manufacturer of VC, and we use shell-and-tube reboilers in our processes. The crude methanol contains substances such as VC-Na sodium sulfate. The pipes used inside should generally be those that are not prone to scaling or crystallization; furthermore, it is required that the substances inside the pipes contain an extremely low amount of solid particles! ! ! !
Solutions need to be found based on the actual process. I have encountered crystallization on the inner wall of tube bundles. We reduce the amount of salt at the upstream stage. Maintain a small amount of moisture, etc.
Are the heat exchange tubes in the reboiler of your distillation tower not plain tubes? Inward flaps?

Horizontal heat exchangers have a stronger resistance to clogging compared to vertical ones; it depends on what is causing the clogging
Your distillation column is equipped with two reboilers, and each vapor-liquid phase of these reboilers is fitted with a tight-shut off valve, so that one of them can be isolated during operation for mechanical cleaning or chemical treatment.
