Factory workers work from 7:00 to 17:00 with a one-hour lunch break in between. They have only one day off per month, which is the 1st, plus an additional day off for statutory holidays. Their salary ranges from 4,000 to 5,000. Is this the case in all factories in Wenzhou?
I work in the office and have one day off per week. After that, I won’t be in Wenzhou anymore. My colleagues in the office said that the working hours for the workers in the factory are not humane; I’m not sure if other factories are the same
It’s the same in Wenzhou and Fujian – the working hours are 10 hours per day, with any time beyond that counted as overtime. There are two days off per month, on the 1st and 15th
This model is too unfriendly to workers – they spend their entire lives working in factories, for low wages. The 996 work schedule is already a problem, not to mention the working hours required of these workers

Factories in Wenzhou are generally like this; these past couple of days, during the Qingming Festival along with New Year’s Day, they only give two days off. There are also a few factory owners who have a conscience and give three days off

A factory itself consists of job positions in various environments – dirty, strenuous, or comfortable – and it is your value that determines which position you will work in. The laws of natural survival dictate that in an environment where every second counts, business operations cannot allow employees to work at a leisurely pace, with 9 hours of work per day, 4 hours per day off, weekends off, plus holidays off. If that’s the case, then it’s not running a business but rather running a nursing home.
