I. Installation and commissioning of the float level gauge 1. According to the distance between the two guide pulleys, three holes are made in the top of the container; guide bolt tubes and pulley guides are welded in these holes respectively; Weld a scale bracket on the outside of the container, with its height set such that the two guide pulleys remain level. 2. Zeroing the float level gauge: When installing the float level gauge, there should be no medium to be measured inside the tank; when the float is at the bottom of the tank, the red tip of the weight pointer should point to the “zero” mark at the top of the scale’s measurement range. If this is not the case, the length of the wire needs to be adjusted. 3. Adjustment of the floating buoy level gauge’s measurement range: After setting the zero point, pull the buoy to the top of the container or to the maximum measurement point. The red tip of the weight pointer should point to the bottom of the scale, that is, to the maximum measurement mark on the scale. II. Installation, Use, and Precautions for Float Level Gauges 1. Welding/riveting of the lower support for the guide wire: Determine the appropriate position at the bottom of the container according to the direction in which the gauge float moves, and then weld or rivet in a fixed lower support for the guide wire. If the equipment does not meet the welding requirements, the lower support of the guide wire can be fixed using a heavy anchor. If the liquid level in the container fluctuates little, it is not necessary to install guide wires. 2. Installation of the guide wire: (1) Pull the wire straight with force and fix it to the lower support, making sure that the wire is not bent or knotted, so as not to affect the upward and downward movement of the float. (2) The guide wire passes through the guide ring of the float, then goes into the hook screw; the end of the wire is fixed and clamped with a wire clamp, and the hook nut is tightened to keep it taut. Afterwards, the upper nut is tightened as well to prevent loosening, and finally the cover is put back in place. (3) The two guide wires must be perpendicular to the ground and parallel to each other, with the distance between them matching the center-to-center distance of the float’s guide rings. 4. Scale installation: The length of the scale is determined based on the measurement range specified by the user at the time of ordering. During installation, it is required that: (1) The connection parts of the scale be straight and smooth, without any irregularities, so as to avoid affecting the proper operation of the weight pointer or causing measurement errors. (2) The scale should be perpendicular to the liquid level inside the storage tank; there should be no inclination. The verticality of the scale’s installation must not exceed 5°, to prevent the weight pointer from getting stuck and resulting in failed measurements. (3) When assembling the footrest of the welding scale, it is necessary to ensure that the installation surfaces are on the same plane and the installation holes are on the same straight line; in other words, it is important to keep the scale’s marking surface as well as the guides on both sides of the plumb bob pointer straight, so that the plumb bob pointer can move up and down freely within the scale groove. 5. Installation of the buoy connection wire and the weight pointer: The buoy level gauge is fixed to one end of the connection wire using a wire clamp, after which the other end of the connection wire is inserted into the two guide pulley housings that have been installed in advance. It is then connected to the weight pointer, which is also fixed in place with a wire clamp. Finally, the guides for the pulleys are adjusted so that the connection wire remains perpendicular to the horizontal plane, allowing the buoy to move freely along it without any issues such as jamming, twisting, knotting, curling, or damage.
