For metal pipes with severe scaling on the inner wall of electromagnetic flowmeters, impact methods can be used to remove the scaled areas or create cracks; however, it should be noted that this approach may sometimes do no good for ultrasonic transmission, as gaps may form between the scale and the inner wall.
