Generally speaking, is the regulating valve group set on the steam pipeline or its condensate pipeline? If it is installed on the condensate pipeline, should it be before or after the trap group?
The regulating valve group can be set on the steam pipeline to adjust the heating amount through the steam flow. It can also be installed on the condensate water pipeline to adjust the heat transfer amount by adjusting the heating area of the heater. If it is installed on the condensate pipeline, I am not sure where it is best to place it. Personally, I think any one is fine. It should be pointed out that when the regulating valve is placed on the steam pipe: 1) Adjust quickly ; 2) The heater does not require a large margin ; 3) The regulating valve has a large diameter and high cost. When on the condensate pipe: 1) The adjustment is lagging behind. 2) The design margin of the heater should be large ; 3) The regulating valve has a small diameter and low cost.
If it is installed on the condensate water pipeline, there is no need to install a trap group. In actual production, there are many traps in refineries.

Please tell me on the 3rd floor, what device and equipment is it used on? I am also in a refinery, and many places use steam for regulation. I have never seen it on the condensate line.
I personally wonder if placing it on the condensation water pipe will cause condensation water to accumulate in the heat exchange equipment and affect the heat exchange area. What do you think?
I think it's more appropriate to put it in front of the valve group. Because the function of the valve group is to divert the flow. After the flow is diverted, the pressure will decrease, so there is no need for a trap! ! Right! ?
I've never seen it on the condensate line, it's all on the steam line.
It is usually installed on the steam pipeline, and then a tank is installed on the condensate pipeline to provide liquid sealing with liquid level control, so that the top of the tank does not contain condensable gas. This tank is sometimes set to a full tank. As mentioned above, it is used to adjust the heat exchange area and ensure stable operation in places where the heat load fluctuates greatly in the process. Setting it up like this when the tank is not full is actually equivalent to treating the tank as a trap. Now some trap manufacturers also have this kind of industrial application, but relatively few (ethylene industry).
