II. Poor insulation of terminals: The main function of the insulator in terminals is to ensure the proper alignment of the contact elements, as well as to provide insulation between these contact elements and between them and the housing. Therefore, it is essential that the electrical properties of the terminal insulators be maintained, which involves considerations such as the manufacturing process and mechanical properties. As smaller terminals are used more frequently, the thickness of the insulating layer becomes thinner. This places stricter requirements on the material chosen for terminal insulators, as well as on the precision of the injection molding molds and the overall manufacturing process. However, the presence of excess metal on the surface and inside of the insulators, along with dust on the surface, can lead to issues such as insulation breakdown, short circuits, reduced insulation resistance, and leakage current.
