I have been conducting research on the domestic silica market recently, and I hope everyone can provide some information regarding the manufacturers of silica in China as well as the conditions of that market.
I’ll send one myself first; I’ve found that companies in China such as Shenyang Chemical, Shanghai Chlor-Alkali, and Guangzhou Gibisi produce silica
I know there’s a French-Romanian company in Qingdao; it seems they built it together with Dongyue
In fact, the main manufacturers of silica in China at present are: 1. Cabot’s plant with a capacity of 5,000 tons located in Jiangxi; 2. the Japanese company Tokuyama’s plant with a capacity of 5,000 tons located in Jiaxing, Zhejiang. Other companies fall short in terms of both scale and the quality and variety of their products.

The domestic and international markets are quite good; it’s just that the cost of fumed silica is high, though its quality is excellent； The quality obtained by the precipitation method is slightly inferior to that of the vapor phase method, but it seems to be usable nonetheless. Rhodia in France is the most well-known company in this field; there are also some domestic manufacturers whose production techniques seem good, but the quality is not very stable, so it is necessary to learn from foreign companies

Construction by Rodia in Qingdao has been halted. Due to the effects of the economic crisis, the exact date when work will resume has not been determined; it will depend on when production stops at Rodia’s factory in South Korea. It is estimated that operations will resume around 2011
There are several companies in China that use the precipitation method to produce silica gel: Hengheng in Wuxi with a production capacity of 60,000 tons, Wuxi DeSi Silicon with 30,000 tons of production capacity, Chengxing Phosphorus in Jiangyin with 10,000 tons of production capacity. There are two such companies in Qingzhou, Shandong, one in Hequ, Shanxi, as well as companies in Nanping, Fujian, Zhuzhou, Hunan, Shanghai Jiusheng, Zhejiang, and elsewhere.
