Does anyone know the thickness of 6-inch stainless steel loose-flange and stainless steel butt-weld flanges with PN0.6 rating? If possible, could you tell me the standard numbers? The standards of the manufacturer themselves are also fine; I just want to know the thickness. I saw that these flanges are made of galvanized carbon steel, and stainless steel is much stronger than galvanized carbon steel – so are their thicknesses the same? Is the thickness the same for galvanized carbon steel and stainless steel? The standards only mention steel; it’s all steel, so isn’t there any difference? Shouldn’t stainless steel be thinner?

The poster can refer to the standard HG20604-97 \"Pressure and Temperature Classes for Steel Pipe Flanges\" to determine the required pressure class for the flange. Flanges made of carbon steel and stainless steel with the same pressure class have the same thickness, and flange manufacturers produce them in accordance with these standards; the dimensions of carbon steel and stainless steel flanges are exactly the same; When carbon steel is used or stainless steel is used, the pressure rating is not necessarily the same
When selecting pressure vessel flanges, if the thicknesses of stainless steel and carbon steel differ, standard flanges can be used for carbon steel, while flanges for stainless steel require calculation (which can be done using SW6). Last edited by Xuehua on 2008-10-28 15:54
