Mojit Weather joins forces with Chery Xiongshi to enter the connected vehicles sector and develop the intelligent meteorology industry. On June 20th, the Chery Xiongshi Ecological Alliance of Chery Automobile Group held a launch event in Wuhu. As a weather service provider with which Chery has a close partnership, Mojit Weather signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Chery Xiongshi. The two parties will work together to create an ecosystem platform for connected vehicle weather services based on big data related to weather conditions, with the aim of providing customized and diversified intelligent meteorology solutions for this sector. During this conference, journalists interviewed Zhang Mingming, Vice President of Moji Weather’s market division, as well as Lu Haitao, General Manager of the Intelligent Connectivity Department in Chery’s Intelligent Vehicles business unit, and discussed with them their views on the driving experience and safety of vehicles in the context of 5G technology development. Zhang Mingming, vice president of Moji Weather’s market division, said that with the development of 5G technology, the Internet of Things has entered an era of ultra-wide connectivity. The intelligent meteorology industry is experiencing rapid growth, which also opens up more possibilities for the integration of meteorology and the Internet of Vehicles. Zhang Mingming said that Moji Weather will invest over 100 million yuan in areas such as technology, data, products, and talent in the future, with the aim of creating a variety of weather-related commercial services for various industries. According to Zhang Mingming, weather, as an important factor affecting driving, has a profound impact on both the driving experience and safety of vehicles. Conditions such as heavy rain causing water accumulation, icy roads due to snow, heavy fog, sandstorms, and harsh sunlight can severely affect driving safety. Providing drivers with accurate short-term weather forecasts on a minute-by-minute and kilometer-by-kilometer basis can greatly enhance the driving experience and ensure safety while driving. Lu Haitao, General Manager of the Intelligent Connectivity Division of Chery’s Intelligent Vehicles Business Group, said that the company attaches great importance to its partnership with Moji Weather. Leveraging Moji Weather’s accurate weather forecasting capabilities and diverse weather data, customized and varied intelligent weather solutions can create more value for automobile manufacturers and connected vehicle service providers. Weather-based scenario services in smart mobility play a crucial role within the \"ecological vehicle networking\" ecosystem. InoWeather’s B2B meteorological services, in partnership with Chery Tiggo, are entering the connected vehicles sector; by providing short-term forecasts for the next 2 hours, they offer comprehensive meteorological solutions to automobile manufacturers. The offerings include comprehensive weather-related solutions such as weather and route navigation, car washing index insurance, automated adjustment of temperature, humidity, and air quality inside the vehicle via connected car technology, AI-powered weather updates, predictions of road surface temperature and humidity, forecasts for road flooding and icing, visibility prediction alerts, analysis of the relationship between tire temperature and ambient temperature, use of meteorological data to assist in autonomous driving, and analysis of the impact of weather conditions on the range of electric vehicles. Zhang Mingming said, \"Taking Mojit Weather as an example, in terms of data collection methods, in addition to data from traditional sources such as satellites, radars, and monitoring stations provided by domestic professional agencies like the China Meteorological Administration and the Beijing Meteorological Bureau, we also collaborate with international organizations such as the U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts. As a result, we receive around 350G of weather data on a daily basis.\" Meanwhile, over the course of its ten years in operation, InkWeather has accumulated 550 million users. The platform’s weather photo community sees hundreds of thousands of weather photos uploaded by users every day, along with tens of thousands of user-generated feedback entries on weather conditions; all these constitute a vast amount of crowd-sourced data. As a result, each user becomes an independent weather observer and reporter, thereby completely transforming the traditional structure of weather data. Moji Weather can also provide driving users with weather forecasts for travel itineraries, weather updates for tourist attractions, and forecasts related to flower viewing, thereby greatly enhancing the driving experience. ” Lu Haitao, General Manager of the Intelligent Connectivity Division at Chery’s Intelligent Vehicles Business Group, said, “As intelligence advances across various fields, the connected car will become one part of the broader Internet of Things ecosystem. In the future, as boundaries are redefined and a decentralized structure emerges, cars will also serve as an important component and node within this IoT network.” ”Lu Haitao said. “With the rapid development of intelligent connected vehicles, we aim to make Chery cars the most secure option in the eyes of users. ” Lu Haitao pointed out that as cars become more intelligent, hackers can use various entry points such as TBOX, OBD, gateways, infotainment systems, mobile apps, the cloud, WIFI, and Bluetooth to launch attacks; therefore, it is essential to strengthen the cybersecurity protection of cars. Through this partnership, Chery’s connected vehicle technology will provide customized data that is sent back to Mojit Weather’ s meteorological big data platform; this data can be used as a reference to improve the accuracy of Mojit Weather’ s weather forecasts, thereby enriching its meteorological big data. Meanwhile, Moji Weather can provide better support for Chery’s connected vehicle services through more comprehensive meteorological big data. Zhang Mingming added, \"In terms of weather dissemination, we can not only provide users with accurate weather information, but also further develop meteorological capabilities to create weather-related products tailored for different industries.\" For example, recently, Moji Weather launched an \"Artificial Intelligence + Social Observation Disaster Identification System\" that makes use of our time-lapse disaster weather images to complement traditional disaster early warnings, thereby significantly improving the level of safe production as well as comprehensive disaster prevention, mitigation, and response efforts. Currently, the Hebei Provincial Meteorological Disaster Prevention Center and the China National Environmental Monitoring Centre are also long-term partners of Moji Weather. By leveraging large amounts of crowd-sourced data and AI capabilities, they have significantly improved their ability to monitor disaster-related weather conditions, thereby providing more time and flexibility for disaster prevention and mitigation, enhancing their response capabilities, and minimizing disaster losses as much as possible. ” Currently, InkWeather provides meteorological services to various automobile manufacturers, including FAW-Volkswagen, GAC Mitsubishi, Dongfeng Nissan, and BAIC New Energy. This collaboration with Chery Tiggo will further unlock endless possibilities for \"connected vehicles + meteorology\". Lu Haitao said that in the future, with the advent of the 5G era, large volumes of meteorological data can be transmitted rapidly through 5G networks, thereby enhancing the communication capabilities of meteorological stations across the country and meeting the demands of weather monitoring, disaster prevention and reduction, forecasting, and other applications that rely on meteorological communication networks. The industry combining weather services with vehicle networking is set to undergo significant changes. In the future, Moji Weather’s commercial meteorological services will extend to various industries such as insurance, electricity, water management, transportation, retail, aviation, agriculture, and logistics, thereby contributing to the development and progress of human society.
