Electric valves operate quickly and are suitable mainly for locations where there is no instrument air supply; they are easy to install and use. However, their safety performance is poor, making them unsuitable for hazardous environments such as those prone to fire and explosion where high levels of explosion protection are required. Their performance is not as stable as that of pneumatic valves, and they require more maintenance; Pneumatic valves have a slightly slower operating speed compared to electric valves, but they still meet the control requirements adequately. They offer high safety levels and are widely used in environments where explosion prevention is crucial, such as those with flammable and explosive materials. There are many options available for pneumatic control valves, and they operate reliably. Domestic electric control valves are rare; most imported ones are OEM products. Our company doesn’t use it well.

After reading everyone’s posts, I’d like to share my insights: There are electronic control valves and pneumatic control valves. Electronic control valves contain a proportional control module within their valve heads, which allows for proportional adjustment of the set parameters. Pneumatic control valves can be used for proportional control only after being equipped with a pneumatic valve positioner. When performing proportional control, it is better not to use electric valves, as their response speed is very slow; pneumatic valves are faster. Everyone should use products with different performance characteristics in different industrial control environments to achieve the desired efficiency.
