Are there any requirements for having a second degree to take the safety engineer exam?
No requirements; apply based on the highest level of education attained
Article 10: Those who abide by the Constitution, laws, and regulations of the People’s Republic of China, possess good professional competence and moral integrity, and meet one of the following conditions may apply to take the intermediate registered safety engineer professional qualification exam: (1) Hold an associate degree in safety engineering or a related field, and have at least 5 years of experience in work related to work safety; Or possess a junior college degree from another specialized field, with at least 7 years of experience in work safety-related tasks. (II) Hold a bachelor’s degree in safety engineering or a related field, and have at least 3 years of experience in work related to safe production ; Or possess a bachelor’s degree from another specialized university, with at least 5 years of experience in work safety-related tasks. (III) Possess a second bachelor’s degree in safety engineering or a related field, and have at least 2 years of experience in work related to safe production ; Or possess a second bachelor’s degree in another field, with at least 3 years of experience in work related to safe production. (IV) Hold a master’s degree in safety engineering or a related field, and have at least 1 year of experience in work related to safe production ; Or possess another professional master’s degree and have at least 2 years of experience in work safety-related fields. (5) Hold a doctoral degree and have at least 1 year of experience in work related to safe production. (6) Having obtained the professional qualification of junior registered safety engineer and having been engaged in work related to work safety for at least 3 years.
