In the extraordinary year of 2020, from the Fat Five and Beidou to Tianwen and Chang’e, China’s space professionals have never ceased their efforts to explore the stars.
At 4:30 on November 24th, China successfully launched the Chang’e-5 probe as part of its lunar exploration program from the Wenchang Space Launch Center, using the Long March 5 Y5 rocket. After about 2,200 seconds of flight, the rocket delivered the probe into its intended orbit, marking the beginning of China’s first mission to retrieve samples from an object outside Earth.
